Hope dawns
I love to be on the beach at sunrise. The light is subtle and magical. The community is fascinating and eclectic. Surfers, dog walkers and coffee drinkers mingling along the beach front welcoming a new day.
As I wait for the sunrise I breathe in the crisp morning air hopeful but uncertain about what the dawn will bring. The colours change rapidly. Deep and dramatic pre-dawn hues disappear rapidly as the sun breaches the horizon.
The right amount of cloud can disperse the light and colour as a dazzling canvas. Or the blinding light of unfiltered sun can bleach the sky.
This photo was taken at North Avoca Beach from the rock platform. It remains one of my favourite captures.
